Theory is an idea that is suggested or presented as possibly true but that is not known or proven to be true. (Merriam-Webster). Theory can help us organize our knowledge , help us to understand what we have already observed and why it occurred. Also, highlight our gaps in knowledge and direct our research by filter which data is relevant to the study and which data is not. Theories help us build frameworks to develop schools of thought and formulate ideologies. Ideologies becomes a lens of understanding of how we view the world. (Mngadi,2018).
From above, in this Business method research subject, in our research paper, we need to have theory. We will find existing theories , analyse and understand. There could be further questions and these may not yet analyse. This is where we can identify the gaps in the existing theories and set the direction for our research. To form to confirm the gaps identify.
