The last time I participated in a survey was in 2019 which was conducted by UPM, DOSH Students. This survey is about work-related musculoskeletal symptoms and ergonomic risks among housekeepers at Budget Hotels in the Selangor area (Couldn’t recall back the full title). The questionnaire comes in two parts, in which Part A is about the socio-demographic background, general occupational traits, lifestyle, and medical history, whereas Part B was complicated as they were asking about symptoms at 9 body parts – neck, out the symptoms at 9 body parts which include neck, shoulder upper and lower back areas, elbows, hand/wrists, waist/thighs, knees and ankle/legs regions for the past 12 months.
The survey took about 30 – 40 minutes per person. The students were patient and asked for specific questions which are related to their research. They even shared their comments and ways to reduce the body postural risk.
The students could have used google survey form instead of a few printed papers per survey. Also, keep the question simple and explained in layman’s terms.
