Business Intelligence and Analytics (AMU-MBAO6605-01)

This course introduces students to the concepts, practices, systems, and technologies of business intelligence, which supports enterprise level data management, analysis, reporting, and decision making. The students are exposed to the current Business Intelligent tools, are expected to apply Business Intelligent tools to solve the case study.

Learning Outcome:

1. Understand today’s turbulent business environment and describe how organizations survive and even excel in such an environment (solving problems and exploiting opportunities)

2. Understand the need for computerized support of managerial decision making

3. Recognize the evolution of such computerized support to the current state—analytics/data science

4. Describe the business intelligence (BI) methodology and concepts

5. Understand the various types of analytics, and see selected applications

6. Understand the analytics ecosystem to identify various key players and career opportunities
